French Adventure
A unique visit during a special time of year!
After three days in Paris, you will be a pro at catching the metro and ordering a croissant! Visits to the iconic sites of Paris – the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre, to name a few – will leave you breathless and amazed. Five days during Carnaval in the dazzling South of France will change your image of France forever.
Are you ready to experience something different? Here's what you can expect:
Day 1
Arrive in Paris mid-morning! Ward off jet lag by taking a stroll through Montmartre, home to many famous historical and contemporary artists. Take in the beauty and silence of Sacré Coeur, a modern basilica and monument to peace. End the day with a bateau mouche (boat) tour on the Seine to see the famous Parisian monuments lit up!
Day 2
Stretch your legs on a three-hour bike tour that will take us through Paris and its sights. Lunch in the beautiful Tuileries Gardens and then climb the Eiffel Tower to get a bird’s eye view of the City of Light.
Day 3
Spend the morning relaxing at a French café and strolling through the city. After a visit to the Louvre, end the day in one of Paris’ many theatres for a breathtaking production.
Day 4
Say au revoir to Paris and board a quick flight to Nice. Drop your bags, explore picturesque Old Nice and stroll along the Promenade des Anglais--a beautiful walkway along the Mediterranean Sea. Enjoy free time until dinner and then check out the evening’s Carnaval festivities.
Day 5
Take advantage of the French Riviera’s eternal sunshine and hike up to the medieval village of Èze with its unique botanical gardens and phenomenal sea and mountain views. (Be sure to bring good walking shoes!) After lunch, relax on a bus back to Nice before a well-deserved rest and free time to explore the city. Be wowed by the first parade – the Corso Carnavalesque Illuminé- with its unique illuminated floats.
Day 6
After a relaxing morning, the carnival celebrations continue with the Bataille de Fleurs (parade of floats built with flowers) after lunch. Let let the excitement of the day take us where it will and end the day with a sky view of the festivities from the Roue de Nice (Ferris wheel) and the world’s best gelato at Fenocchio’s.
Day 7
Leave the bustle of the city and head for the foothills of the Alps. Our first stop is the enchanting artists’ village Vence where we can visit the chapel designed by Matisse. From here, visit the charming town of Grasse, home to the famed French perfume industry. Enjoy dinner in the cosmopolitan city of Cannes, home to the International Film Festival.
Day 8
It’s our last day in the beautiful French Riviera and no visit is complete without a stop in Monaco, home to the princely Grimaldi family, Monte Carlo’s casinos and the Grand Prix. After a tour of the palace, former home of our American princess Grace Kelly, visit the charming Disney like square mile city-state. (If you have a million dollars, you can apply for residence here!)
Day 9
It’s time to say au revoir but not adieu to our new home away from home! We hope you will come back again and again, as there is still so much to see!
